Windows Spotify Can't Play This Right Now

Windows Spotify Can't Play This Right Now

Premium

Windows 10 Pro

Direct Spotify and Microsoft Store Spotify

This has been an on going issue with Spotify for 2+ years and the only solutions are to clear cache, relog twice, and/or uninstall remove left over files and install a fresh copy, which none are working for me. I have had this issue in the past and no clue how I fixed it and here I am again, not a single song will play through the desktop app however somehow I magically got the web player to work, I DONT WANT TO USE THE WEB PLAYER JUST MAKE THE DESKTOP APP WORK................................

Hey @Klassik586,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out.

Just to double-check, did you try disabling the Hardware Acceleration? You can find it in the app's Settings > Compatibility > Hardware Acceleration

There is also a slight chance that your PC's sound sample rate is causing this issue, so head to Sound Settings, check it and make sure it's set to anywhere from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz. Spotify doesn't currently support a sample rate higher than 192 kHz.

On Windows another solution for this can be updating your sound drivers. Read more about how to do that here.

Hope the above mentioned helps. Let us know how it goes.
