Windows10 Store replaces installation

Windows10 Store replaces installation

Whenever I run spotify after i.e. system has started, the application looks like this:Untitled.png

And I would like to have this version:

Spotify-Devices-options.png

(Notice: different UI buttons: browse, radio, etc.)

The version from second screenshot contains more albums, works better and looks better. The only way I can get it is to uninstall current(replaced) Spotify app, manually stop Windows Store services, then reinstall Spotify with .exe downloaded from the website and until next system startup I got to keep the better version.

Question: How do I prevent app replacement? I tried uninstalling windows store using powershell commands but this vermin is immortal.

Hey @564849

Help’s here!

In case the app looks different after a startup it's possible that a new update is being rolled out. We’re often testing and launching improvements of the Spotify app and the best way to achieve this is by regular updates. This means you might see something on the app your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try only temporarily.

We suggest you check this help article for more info about test features.

Tip: Make sure you don't miss a thing by enabling automatic updates on your device.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
