automatically skipping songs until album ends

My Question or Issue

I'm having an issue using the windows application (web browser works fine) that whenever i hit play in any song / any album, the song never starts, it only keeps skipping until the end of the album is reached. this has been happening for the last couple of weeks. i have tried resetting the audio settings, re-installed the application but the issue still persists.

Let's start by trying if a clean reinstall would fix this for you. This step ensures you get the latest Spotify app version with all features updated. Check out this help page for the steps you need to run a clean reinstall. Keep in mind once you’ve performed it you'll need to re-download your offline music and podcasts. 

If this doesn't help, check out this Ongoing Issue and add your vote to it by clicking on the +VOTE button. Make sure you follow the steps under Status Update as well.
