"Adding" playlist of an album from an artist makes it a playlist made by me?

This has been extremely annoying for the entirety of the time I've used spotify. Whenever I save an album by any artist, right click it, and click "add as new playlist" it makes it so the playlist is created by me and isn't displayed on my playlist list as created by the original artist. Is there any way I can make my albums appear on the sidebar where my playlists are too? Having albums by artists set as custom playlists is very annoying for me.

Hey @iiKyodaiKickz, welcome to the Community.

That is not a bug or a broken feature. You have 0 rights over the artists work so no one that want's to create a playlist just with his/her album can not have his/her name appear as if he/she made that playlist.

Yeah I posted this in the wrong place lol. I'm saying that instead of it appearing as a custom playlist made by me of someone's album you should be able to show albums by other people on your sidebar so that they are easier to access and so that they aren't shown as custom playlists made by you. It's not about rights over the songs. Probably should have posted this in a suggestions forum but oh well

Hello @iiKyodaiKickz and welcome to the community

The way to do what you are looking for is :

On the artist page or album page :

- Right click on the album title

- Select > Save to Your Library

That will save the album in the folder albums in YOUR LIBRARY exactly as the album is labelled in the artist page.

Note : if you right click / Add to Playlist > New playlist / it will  automatically create a new playlist with your name as author, and it will be saved in your folder PLAYLISTS. So that's not the way to follow for you.

This isn't what I'm looking to do. I'm looking for a way to save albums by other people in the same drop down style as "Playlists" are. It's less of a  hassle to just have them on the sidebar than to have to scroll through all my saved albums. I was already aware of the "Saving to Albums Library" function and it is extremely inconvenient.
