"open.spotify.com’s server IP address could not be found"

"open.spotify.com’s server IP address could not be found"

This issue has been going on for 4 days no, spotify web player will not load on my laptop. When I click on my spotify application it will open and just display a spinning loading wheel and never progress. Spotify works fine on my phone and on other computers I have tried on. Spotify will also not play on the desktop version it just displays a spinning loading wheel when I try to open it. When I try to use the web player it gives me:

This site can’t be reached

open.spotify.com’s server IP address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

I have tried:

  • Reinstalling/restarting my computer
  • Ensuring internet connection was working fine
  • tried different networks
  • Tried connecting with a VPN
  • Cleared internet history, cache, cookies
  • Changed my DNS
  • Tried different browsers, incognito mode, etc.
  • Checked for Windows updates/driver updates
  • Cleared temp files in windows

Nothing seems to work and its been super frustrating as my laptop is where I primarily use spotify.

I've been facing the same problem on chrome, but it works on other browsers like opera.

Hi

Have you tried turning off any firewalls you might have [including windows firewall]?

From what you are saying it sounds like it's an issue local to your machine and a firewall is a first stop for 'things that might block access to ip addresses'.
