My Question or Issue
Hi, upon opening a playlist and trying to play, it sometimes starts to play music, but does not reflect in the controls (still grey/inactive) and you cannot stop the music again. Also it does not continue after the first song.
Opening the developer tools, you can see a lot of requests to /devices responded with http/502.
URL affected is https://gew4-spclient.spotify.com/track-playback/v1/devices if that reaches the tech people.
I can see that I'm not the only one by visiting downdetector - but you should not need that to confirm.

I get "Spotify can't play this right now" message for every song I try to play, even though some songs still do play randomly. And also when I can play a song, the next few songs will be skipped and then player is kinda trying to play some random song, but nothing happens.AND some songs will start to play, but get muted after a few seconds.
still won't let me do anything. I've tried to open and reopen my browser. same message 😕
Hey @Paha_Agentti and @whybrvh
Are you still having this issue? If so, please try restarting your browser and see if it's working now.
It could be a temporary internet issue, so you can also try restarting your computer.

It was OK for awhile, but now the problem is back again.
Hey @Paha_Agentti,
Thanks for replying in the thread! Hope you don't mind us chiming in.
Just to check, are you still experiencing the same issues?
If so, could you check for an update for your browser? Does the same thing happen if you open the Web Player in another browser or using an incognito window?
Keep us posted!
No problems at the moment.
And now the problem is back again.
Hi @Paha_Agentti,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
First up, could you check and try the recommendations given by @Maria in our previous reply? Additionally, try using a different internet connection and check if the issue persist. If you don't have any available, you could create a hotspot network from your mobile device and use it to check.
Lastly, let us know the OS on your device and the browser you're using. We'll see what we can suggest.
We'll wait for your reply.
This problem still comes and goes randomly. I use Win 10, Win 11 and macOS 11. Same thing on all of them. I have tried all given recommendations without success.
Hi @Paha_Agentti,
Thanks for trying out our recommendations and for the info provided.
Go to your Account Overview page and Sign out everywhere. This is simple, but most times effective when it comes to the Web Player. If that doesn't help, try using a different Spotify account. If you don't have another account, you can ask a relative or friend to log in from one of your devices and check if they can replicate the behavior.
Keep us posted!
for me its not
