My Question or Issue
every time i open the spotify web browser i get a single error say spotify cant play this atm and then it skips 5 songs and plays exactly 10 seconds of a song then stops all sound but continues to play clearing the cache uninstalling and reinstalling browser doesnt work other browsers dont work doesnt work on windows or linux i have even reinstalled the linux os, restarted my computer i have logged out and back in. i believe there is nothing more i can do on my end so please dont tell me to do everything i already have done about 5 time each
some of you might wonder why not report this bug i have many times they dont care im about to start pirating and getting rid of spotify. they dont care this has been a thing for so god damn long
There was a post about this but they did nothing to solve the issue and closed it because they where getting bullied in the comments for basically telling everyone it works and the problem is you and not them. have cleared the catch uninstalled the web browser installed new os's (yes i have tested it on more than one the only one i haven't is mac, windows and linux different flavors too) i have also tried every single step they have suggested like logging out and back in turning off and on. they might lock this post too but truly it is the DRM**bleep** thats **bleep**ing it up and they wont even bother to fix it they just say hey download the app. well maybe try fixing your website or just dont have one
so it turns out if you run spotify on the web it only plays ten seconds and then skips 5 songs doesnt matter what os i am using nor web browser. i have tried it on windows and different things of linux. i think they should stop saying you can use it in the web also the help page shouldnt say hey btw download the app because we dont want to fix the web page.
about once a week i check to see if spotify web works and every time the still bug is there and the help just say clear your cache everything works on our end. like thanks man im paying you to give me nothing
and no i will not install your app on to my pc because the website doesnt work
Hello, and welcome to the Spotify Community! 😊
If your Spotify web player isn't loading properly, it's worth checking to see if you're blocking any essential services.
Currently, from what I've seen, the Spotify browser relies on certain domains and connections to work, so if you've blocked any of them via the hosts file, Pi-hole, firewall, or any other type of filter, that could be the reason for your issue.
Try temporarily releasing these blocks and see if the player returns to normal.
If you have any news, let me know — keep me updated.

Hey there @badgoat,
Thanks for reaching out via the Community! We hope you don't mind that we've merged most of your posts here in order to keep better track of them in one place.
We can see and appreciate that you've done some troubleshooting so far and that you've shared the steps with us. Make sure to also check out what @ribezaz suggested here.
Additionally, we think that you may already have taken a look at this Ongoing Issue thread, but if you haven't already then please do so. In it, there are other steps that you could test with if you haven't already and it would be very helpful if you could share them with us. We specifically advise that you clear the hosts files, as well as make sure the firewall isn't blocking Spotify.
Overall, the Web Player works as expected on a large scale, which would lead us to believe that the issue is with the network or set up that you're using.
Appreciate the cooperation and we're here if anything else comes up.
