Having the app up-to-date ensures that you have the latest features and fixes. It's always a good idea to check that you have the latest version of the app before posting about an issue. Make sure you have a stable internet connection and do the following:
Desktop
When an update is available, a blue dot appears next to your profile picture in the upper right corner of the app.
- Click the menu button with the blue dot
- Select Update Available. Restart Now.
Reinstalling the app also guarantees you're rocking the latest version of Spotify.
iPhone and iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID image at the top.
- Find Spotify, and tap UPDATE. If Spotify isn’t listed, your app is on the latest version.
Make sure to have automatic updates on:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap iTunes & App Store.
- Switch Updates on.
Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Use the search bar to find Spotify.
- Tap UPDATE. If no update option is visible, your app is on the latest version
Make sure to have automatic updates on:
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Use the search bar to find Spotify.
- Tap the three vertical dots in the top right.
- Check Auto-update.
