[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I saw an article yesterday that said that Spotify wants to create playlists that are timed to your heart beat. Really?!? Are there thousands of kudos for that feature? Come on already.

Social media. Let's use it. They can't ignore it for much longer. Keep using #ExplicitButtonPlease tag on Facebook and Twitter. I think I'll also mention the competitor products that do offer this feature. Pandora definitely does.

Some others and myself have gone to social media with #spotifynsfw and we get the same response each time, "this subject is under consideration. Please go here [forums link] for any future concerns." They do not like it when we go to social media. So if we get enough people to hashtag them this matter will be brought to light. Either that or enough people will give up and quit Spotify for their competitors.

I searched "spotifynsfw" and Retweet;d .. Keep it going

Please, please, please enable users to block expicit songs!  Don't make me go back to Pandora.  PLEASE!!!!!!!

A skip-NSFW option would be really, really, really nice.

I'm sitting here, minding my own business, a co-worker comes in and the language on the next track is despicable.  Color me embarassed.  And I pay for this.

Personally I don't even want explicit titles for MY OWN listening, much less to inflict on an innocent co-worker.  Totally, totally  NOT cool.

This should definitely be a feature. I should also point out that Pandora has this feature.

Why is this still "under consideration" and not just a done deal?

Adding my voice to this. I can't imagine why this hasn't been implemented yet. It strikes me as a core feature/setting that should exist in any music service. Guess I'll finish up my 3 months for $0.99 and cancel. A shame, though. I like the Spotify interface better than the other services.

To Spotify, how would I make a official complaint that you are not taking action to protect under age youths and the general public from inappropriate language in songs? (If anyone else would like to join me in this matter, please do. I think that this matter going on since 2012 is ridiculous.)
