[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Please, please, please add this feature! I play Spotify at all social gatherings and know a lot of people who do not want to hear profanity! I love the playlists, but this option is crucial!

Come on Spotify. We obvoiusly want this. Also would be great if we could select the non explicity albums when on mobile, not just on desktop.

I am a trial user and do not plan to continue unless an explicit block button is created. Like 1wave said 'how hard could this be?' And getting ahold of anyone at Spotify is 100% impossible unless you sign up first.

Seriously?! How is this still not implemented! This just seems like a slap in the face to Spotify's users. Paying $9.99 a month, I would expect to be able to listen to music with my kids without having to worry about them hearing explicit lyrics. This is extremely frustrating.

There must be monetary reason this is not being implemented. I wonder what
it could be?

All, Tweet @SpotifyCares asking for a quick resolution to a Explicit Button to filter content. You will get a response within 24hrs so at least you know that your ask has been read. If all 3k users do this, I guess a swift resolution will be found. My general feeling is that this community site on Spotify is not monitored by Spotify staff. Twitter is public and so the power of social media will prevail. It's worth a shot.......

I'll second that, tweeting @SpotifyCares gets a response (if only a hollow one). Better yet ... lets get a hashtag going. Let Spotify hear our voices together and encourage your friends, digital and otherwise, to join in!

I'll be honest, I went to Apple Music. It was painful. Spotify is so much better, but this will cinch it! I'm a subscriber and a spotify fan, but this issue leaves a bitter taste when you get embarrased by a random explicit song in an inappropriate context.

one of the only things that Apple Music has over Spotify is the ability to filter out explicit lyrics.

If Spotify was able to do this...it would be pretty much game over for Apple Music for me.

Please please please....

I have three young kids and i dont want SPotify to be the first source of the F word they hear.

Make it happen....YOu  know want to.
