[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I know that and that is the reason why I am going back to Pandora.

Why hasn't this been resolved with more and more explicit music being released!

Maybe because children live in this world, too!

That's what I mean!! They should have this feature on there because children listen to it!! It's disgusting that Spotify let children listen to this sort of music !

I'm just starting my 3 months for £0.99 and loving the way Spotify works but this feature is a requirement for me.

Kids want to listen on their tablets etc and spotify seems like the perfect answer but I should have controls over what they listen to on the service!

Why can't we listen to the radio edit of explicit song? The other streaming services I have used provide this feature. Does that mean I should go back to those services?

I've had to go back to Pandora..

Come on guys, this is a essential feature now days where most young children have some form of online device. Surely this is a days work for one of your devslopers!

I love this idea. Also this button should apply to commecials as well. I find it highly offensive and mood disturbing when I was just listening to a beatles album and then in the middle is a commecial for a rap artist cursing every other word. I would have thought that Spotify's user target marketing software would work better then this. I worry about busineeses that use spotify  to play in their stores and when this happens could very negatively effect their store's reputation. All because the teenager hooked up his smartphone to the stores' PA system.

I had no idea that the commercials were not censored. I will be canceling my subscription this week. I said months ago in a thread discussing the explicit button that I would give them until the end of the year to add this feature. Please join me in my new years resolution to boycott spotify until they implement an explicit button.
