[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Do this, or you lose me to Pandora. They have it.

Cancelling now because of the lack of an explicit filter.  Many pluses to the Spotify surface but if they won't listen to customer requests, I can't give them my money.  Little ears are worth protecting.  On to Apple or some other competitor.

I will be cancelling once Pandora releases their new version later this
year. After their purchase of Rdio, they will have the functionality of
Spotify. Hopefully they can provide a library as robust as Spotify or even
larger.

Im cancelling my sub, its just to embarassing to have explicit songs playing.  Spotify obviously doenst care so i will more on to Pandora as reports are its far better.  Goodbye Spotify your a joke.

Please...... this is the one thing Pandora has that Spotify doesn't... and it makes me want to switch back to Pandora after only a month with Spotify....

Little ears are worth protecting but the trampling of the right to protection for children is just collateral damage to Spotify in their quest for -. I wonder what the big picture is really all about and what are their real aims? == Silly me I guess it must be profitable to ignore us.  Apple is fine the kids took to it with a few initial grumbles and then forgot all about Spotify but I will not forget until they put in that damned filter

This feature is key to playing official Spotify playlists in a professional workplace environment.

I will be cancelling my subscription because of the lack of this feature.  It's been years.  No excuse not to have this already.

I really don´t understand why this doesn't exist yet. The thread about it was started in early 2012, and the idea has thousands of kudos. Some make the claim that it would be too much work to go through and tag explicit songs, but they are already tagged!!!! I just can´t use this service anymore, what with every playlist having at least one R-rated song in it. Reminder: some people have morals that prohibit those songs.

Severely disappointed by this company. I guess itś back to Google Play Music.

Spotify don't you think it is about time to do someting about this? I have kids and I cant just let them play music because everyother song has F**k or GD or some other kind of profanity. I use to use sony music and it had a explict control button why cant spotify? I am concidering dropping the service
