[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

There needs to be an option for to block explicit songs. I find it very strange this wasn't built into the system from the start. I am canceling my subscriptions until this option is made available.

How hard can it be?

Pretty darn hard since they have it in their tiny minds that it is about
censorship. they don't understand what the issue is. ##- Please type your

Offensive on purpose.

Please add the ability to opt out of hearing explicit lyrics.
thanks

Please add a feature that would just skip Explicit songs from playing. Heck for that matter if I turn this feature on play a commerical in place of the explicit song if Spotify wants to pay for the enchancement quickly......

I cancelled my Premium Membership due to Spotify not allowing listener to filter out explicit content. It hard to believe this is not a relatively easy fix. The only way Spotify will make this change is if you cancel your Premium Membership.

Any update on this?

I have decided that I would take Google up on an offer for their rival service Google Play music on a 3 month free trial.... nothing to lose right? Nope... But everything to gain... I get to stream simultaneously on 10 devices  (spotify is 1) , I get music videos via youtube, i get youtube red (no ads on youtube) and I have an amazing little feature called "filter explicit content".

You too can get this free trial... Just sign up and pay nothing for 3 months. If it doesn't work for you... Stay with Spotify... If it works, then do as I did and quit the Spotify subscription.

Worth noting for the record that the lack of a filter was an issue for me, but what annoys me more is their lack of response to the single most asked for feature since 2012. And because Spotify doesn't filter explicit content: GO F Ü C K YOURSELF SPOTIFY. Hope your next S H | T is a hedgehog.

Add me to the list of people wanting this option. A must have for everyone whether personal preference, having children or even when in the work place or other public area.
