[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Status: implemented

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.
 
We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such. 

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

Switching to Pandor over this issue. Two days and I cant keep hearing the F word in the office.

Love Spotify, especially with Pandora turning political on us.  This has got to be an easy fix that has gotten attention since 2012.  It sucks that I cannot play any of the playlists in public without worrying about explicit language.  Please fix the problem or I will drop Spotify as well.

Spotify will not make this change. You need to leave Spotify now. Check back in a couple years to see if any changes have been made. Many people have already left. Why are you still here?

Yes!! This would be great. Or instead of skipping the entire song play the radio version. Pandora has that feature. Please get this Spotify!!

why is this marked as solved? Spotify really needs a button/toggle to filter out songs with explicit content so I can feel ok with my young kids listening to music on it.

Everyone else has been making the same valid points I was going to (playing music on shuffle with kids at home, personal preference, etc). I even would be willing to PAY for the premium service to get THIS FEATURE ALONE -- should be a no-brainer Spotify!!! Definitely going to look at some alternative providers.

I also want my kids to listen to music but if Spotify doesn't add filter to exclude this explicit songs then sadly I will have to go to another service... Please filter ASAP.
