[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Is the management team on holiday and left the work experience kid in charge?

Please bring on this feature.  It really is a deal breaker .  Especially for the family subscription.

It's not just the words that are used like f and n and b etc. its the context in which they are used as well.

No, they have been very consistent. Explicit Filter =Censorship.... And
s.h.i. t.i.f.y doesn't censor their artist. Only their customers.

You HAVE got to develop an explicit filter...this is totally out of control! **bleep**!?

Don't hold your breath. Leave and go somewhere else.

Unbelievable that years down the line and we're still requesting this!!! Please please please Spotify create filtering you owe it to the next generation to help us parents protect them from shameful, innapropriate content. Thanks

I feel like a traitor.  I took advantage of the 3 months for $9.99 CAD "thanks for being a past customer" offer.  I'm on Apple Music.  I'll be cancelling again in 2.5 months assuming no filters. 😞

Not sure how Pandora created this capability in their system, but it's one that falls under the user settings and it seems to be a code that tells the system to block any songs designated as explicit in your sytem (perhaps a specific field in the background), it works very easily and would be an awesome feature on here!

Done, CANCELLED Spotify and subscribed to Apple Music which can be sideloaded onto Android now - and available in CANADA. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/apple-inc/apple-music/apple-music-0-9-1-release/apple-music-0-9-1-andro...

So great to be able to use an app that actually allows ME to choose what I want to hear. So great that when my 10 year old and 6 year old searches for music on APPLE MUSIC that the options that comes up is the "clean" version of the same song .... so great that at work functions I can put on a playlist that doesn't spew profanity anymore. Thank you APPLE MUSIC for being the better app.
