[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Yes, Slacker Radio, another internet music streaming service has explicit
content filters as well as an "always on display" option which is another
one of my Spotify gripes. When my phone is in the vehicle mount, I like
being able to skip, rewind, pause, like ect without having to constantly
keep turning my display back on when i'm driving; so annoying...but I
digress.

Adding an option to disable playing "explicit" songs would be a fantastic addition, and something iTunes has had for quite some time.

It's been 5 years.  If you can't get to it in that amount of time you most likely don't think it's really a good idea.

This is becoming a bit of a deal breaker for me.  I really don't want to switch to Apple Music, because I've been a Spotify user for years.  My daughter's favourite song last year was Cake By the Ocean.  She's 6.  I really don't want her walking round the house singing "Let's go f*cking crazy".  It's not even easy to find the radio edit - you can't search for it.  I had to go to "Features on" where, unsurprisingly the Heart radio station compilation included the radio edit.

Guys, if Apple can do it, you can do.  If you don't, you're either going to be responsible for a generation of potty mouthed toddlers or you're going to lose a lot of customers to Apple who are desperate to put you out of business.

I can't believe excluding explicit songs is not a feature on Spotify. This seems to be a basic feature that is on almost every music streaming app I have used in the past. If I would of known this ahead of time I would have never signed up for a Family Plan in the first place. I guess I will be cancelling my Family Plan next month.

Please add an explicit button. I use Spotify to create on the go playlists for my Mommy & Me WorkOut classes.  I would love to be able to stream without worrying about an explicit song.

Thank you!

At the moment you are doing a big push in trying to upgrade me to a family package. I'd love to do this, give my kids their own account. However, I cannot do this unless I can put a switch in the settings to remove explicit from searches. Also on the fly, click a playlist to play round the dining table and a button at the top to remove explicit.

I would love this feature as well. Currently, I have Spotify and Slacker, mainly because Slacker has the option to not place explicit lyric content. I would love to drop Slacker all together, since I really really REALLY love Spotify better. This issue would be the best EVER to implement.

Please add!!!
