[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

pretty much the only reason I'm not using Spotify Family is because it doesn't have content filtering. On Apple Music I set these filters up easily in the IOS restrictions. I don't have to worry about my young children listening to inappropriate music... well at least the ones with explicit lyrics...

I was looking at your throwback thursday playlist - normally great but 36 out of 50 songs are Explicit. This is rediculous.

Seriously, how hard can it be to implement an off/on feature for skipping explicit songs. I signed up for a trial with Apple music and its explicit filter works great. I've got two young kids and this feature is becoming a dealbreaker for me. I love most things about spotify however the switch to Apple is looking attractive.

Please explain spotify. Is anyone there?

I don't think they really care about this feature.  It's been asked for a long time ago, but no implementation.  I too left Spotify for Apple Music because they offer parental controls.  I would love to come back to Spotify, but this is a deal breaker for me since I don't listen to explicit material.  Not everyone in this world enjoys that.  It would be great to filter out that material.

I would like this feature to support both use cases, so I can ensure I'll always listen to the original version of a song instead of a censored version.

No, they don't care. The reply to me when I asked why they hadn't done it
was :-

Ironically from an account called Spotify Cares, who didn't even care
enough to craft a proper reply!

Why is this taking so long?  It's the number 1 requested feature.

Let me help your developers out.

"where explicit = false"

Yes, please allow the ability to disable explicit music.

Hello.

It's seems this question is not interessing  SPOTIFY. No solution since 2012 !!!

Maybe someone could give me another platform who have parental control ?
