[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

How is this still not a thing?

I'm seriously considering cancelling and moving to a different service.

Add this to the ads being played too.  Was listening and then the f bomb was being thrown around.  Not exactly suitable for young ears.  🙂

Guys - it's been 5 years since someone asked for this.  Any updates?  It makes it so hard for me to listen to any of your compilations without being able to turn off any songs with explicit lyrics.  Would be so awesome if you could create this button!!!

I agree this needs to happen sooner then later

Come on. This should be pretty straight forward. We love your service, but I'm about to expand to the family plan for my kid to manage his own list. Please add an explicit button.

Looking at the message thread, this has been a concern for the past 5 years...and there are songs marked "explicit," so why is it so hard to come up with a button to exclude these songs?  Why hasn't this been done yet?!   I love Spotify but am thinking about switching to one of your competitors who actually does offer this service...(and there are several).

Email Spotify directly at Support@Spotify.com

I have emailed them twice and have received personalize emails both times. If poor Tiana starts getting emails from all of us as often as I do, maybe something will start to happen.

and what was Tiana's official answer?
