[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Too long coming guys... this needs to be a filter or feature in account settings

I'd hurry up about this because you're losing customers to Google's services over it. I like Spotify much more and probably won't change, but still hate how I can't shuffle many playlists or anything since I can't filter the profanity and I hear f bombs way more than I want to.

Jalubenter, I agree wholeheartedly. I personally probably will not switch to Google Play, but I still think it's quite annoying. I have encountered many awkward situations thanks to this problem.

I am curious... what Does Spotify offer that you cannot get from Google Play?
Jalubenter

Honestly I don't really know, and that's probably a big reason. Because I use apple products and not Android, Google play most likely won't be as good. They're probably the same, but I like the equalizer that Spotify has as well as the app in general.

You've gotta be kidding me!  This is really still up for debate and being "decided" if it's a good idea.  Any company in the music player business that doesn't immediately see why their customers need and want this shouldn't be in business.  You care more about making some kind of "free speech" statement than you do offering the kind of product that customers want for the long haul.

I'm a brand new Family Premium customer and I will be canceling the next chance I get to move over to Google Music where I can remove explicit songs from the playlists.

Personally I get spotify for free with my mobile phone account which is a good saving per month.

NOT Solved! Why can't we keep voting on this and why has no action been taken??

Love Spotify, but seriously debating leaving this service due to not being able to block explicit content.  It would help if children are around, and though I have a family plan, it only includes my wife and 19 year old daughter since I can't add my young son due to not being able to block this.  Please work on this!!!!!!!!!

Why is spotify dragging their feet on this one?  Is there some sort of industry fear?  I should be a pretty easy thing to implement.
