[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

This feature would be great and I'm surprised that it's not on the platform.

There have been many times where I want to play my normal playflits, but cannot because I'm in the car with the kids and there is a decent number of explicit songs.

Please add this feature already

Hello Spotify team, I will need to cancel my membership unless this feature is enabled and seek another provider.  Please can you advise why this isn't available yet?

thanks

I would love to be able to filter bad language. I don't know why there is a current trend with foul language in songs. I am no prude and of course swear at times but it seems its getting worse in songs and for no reason. I was listening to a song the other day a really nice ballad and then she just started swearing and ruined it .....why ??

I am a current Pandora user and am considering switching over to Spotify. I'm doing the free trial and it doesn't look like there is a way right now to only play clean versions of songs from the Spotify radio stations. This is kind of a deal breaker for me. On Pandora it's real simple to do. If some sort of filter can't be applied then I won't be signing up 😩

I see Pandora is only in the US at the moment (I am in the UK) I will check that out when it comes here if I can avoid all the bad language all the time

Please enable a filter for explicit material. It is not censorship! It is just dumb that you don't give your subscribers the option to filter inappropriate material from otherwise great playlists. I am reconsidering my subscription. Please advise when you will be allowing this option.

Should be a toggle switch on the screen, but also a setting so you can have it on all the time.

This feature was requested 5 years ago...FIVE YEARS!  And you haven't been able to get it into an update?!  Please, please please add this feature.  It's not that hard.

why is this taking so long to implement?
