[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

First of all, These words can be used in real life. But kids try to hide that they are already listening and watching videos on YouTube and music streaming services like Spotify. But, You can't use explicit words on other people such as "Go To H___!" Yeah, I censored that. But, The point I'm trying to make is you can say "F__k! I messed up" if you wanted to. Just don't say F**k You! to anybody or anything that will hurt somebody's feelings.

It's about time to allow us to block Explicit Content. I'm a web developer and I know that this something that you can do. It's simply a choice. Your move.

Seriously, if this has been requested for the last six years, there has to be another reason why this isn't being implemented. For your staff to reply that you're still working on it and you hear us is, how else do I say it, a lie. The technology is there and you even have songs on playlist listed as explicit so why can't you provide an option in settings where we can exclude explicit content? It also appears that the vote button was disabled because I've tried to press the vote button and it won't register my vote. I haven't been on Spotify for very long and I'm not sure I'll stay.

I recently went to Twitter with my complaint, and got the same answer. Do
not know why Spotify is being so difficult.

@LoveTheSpotify Please don't tell others how to parent their children. It is absolutely not acceptable for either my 3 year old, or my 11 year old to say "F__K! I messed up".

Please add filter for explicit content so I can listen at work. There's no point in paying for premium if I cant listen to my music. My kids cant hear either or cant play music at family funcions which is one of the main reasons I chose the premium version. I'll probably be going back to pandora when I get fed up with not being able to hear when I want. Mainly all 8 hours at work.

Sorry guys. I reported this subject to the moderator. Bullying has been happening on this "chat" thing.

I get notified on every post and even if the author had later deleted it, I would have a copy. I read them all for the past 4 months. Which ones did you believe to be "Bullying"?
