[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I don't understand why this hasn't been added yet. This is critical to keep customers. Many I talk with gave Spotify a try but decided to stick with Pandora because of the ability to filter out explicit content. You are losing a big audience.

I'm enjoying the premium family plan with Spotify. and have built a lot of playlists. it would be a pain to move to Pandora at the current stage. but nevertheless I'm considering to do a trial with anything that's new out there... I moved to Spotify from Pandora when they insulted their customer base raising their Pandora One subscription x10 times more even for those who paid upfront!

This is literally the reason I moved to Apple Music. I would quickly switch back to Spotify if I knew this feature was implemented.

Unfortunatly spotify don’t care, a number of times I have been told by them
that I should be rest assured that my request has been forwarded to the
right people but they are unwilling to give any update

But after all these years they obviously don’t care.
If this is their community forum then maybe they should read it and give us
an update.

Hey Spotify, it's not a hard modification to implement as you already have a tag for Explicit content and we just need a button so it filters these out and doesn’t play. There are times I have my kids or sitting at my work desk and I can’t use playlists in fear that others will be offended

Basic feature- why is this taking so long to implement?

Option is already here (Australia). Has been on my touchpad for a month. Just today it was added to my Samsung galaxy. Awesome. For some reason it is rolling out slowly.

This is ridiculous that you all haven't taken care of this.  I surmise it's really because you DON'T WANT TO!  Remove this TRASH from your site - OR AT A MINIMUM GIVE US AN OPTION.  Otherwise - OUTTA HERE!!!!!
