[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Prude relatives? Or do you just mean normal people?  A prude is someone who reacts significantly in excess of normal prevailing standards.

I don't think this would apply just to prudish folks...... not everyone
feels the need to be constantly blasted with the F word. None of my friends
seem to appreciate this type of ?MUSIC? so I guess we are all PRUDES.

Yes you are absolutely right, I mostly just wanted to reiterate that this
is an important feature that should've been in the Spotify app since the
beginning. I just made a quick dumb comment without really thinking.

My apologies.

So, we're at page 373 out of 379 max pages of comments again, and then this forum will roll back over to 1 AGAIN. Just to point out the sheer number of comments and people asking for this. I wonder how many times this forum has rolled over to 1, which will in turn start overwriting comments, again... 10 comments per page * 379 pages = 3790 comments asking for this every time it has rolled over, which I know it has done at least once.

Also, let's not jump on others here for their choice of words. People posting here come from all walks of life and all kinds of different places and sometimes their choice of words maybe is not the same words you'd choose, but remember we're all in this for the same thing.

Let's keep the focus on the right track. Rank them a 1 star in the app stores, send emails to support@spotify.com, send direct messages on twitter and facebook to @__spo__ letting them know how disappointed you are.

Any news on this feature? Would be great when listening with the kids around!

Thanks.

Rob.

OBVIOUSLY the support staff doesn't care at all.  That's who you need to light up to make something happen.

Hear hear!

Apparently I have to adjust the overall age of users to filter out explicit songs for my 6 year old?

Please allow us to set each user in the family account (separately, not overall) as either allowed or disallowed to play tracks labelled as explicit.

Thanks
