[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

This is a major oversight in not having this feature.  Kids can now ask Google Assistant to play music from Spotify and there is no ability to block explicit content. Please implement soon, or I will cancel my account.

Got a family subscription, can't apply any family safety rules to childrens use of spotify. Crazy. Please fix this. Need (at least) family accounts to have a 'no explicit' setting, and a button when playing to skip xplicit songs.

So basic. There are also usually non explicit versions of songs. Just switch it to thoseof artists are worried about getting money!

Stunned that America hasn't done this from the beginning.

Weird comment? What’s so **bleep** about “America” and explicit content in songs on Spotify? Most of the artists (if not all) are from the US. And, with a potty mouthed president, it seems more acceptable than ever in US society to curse.

Super. Keep up the good work sport.
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AMERICA! SPOTIFY NEEDS TO OFFER THIS WORLDWIDE!

Spotify, please get your act together. This is extremely simple to implement. You've had 5 years to do it... when you could do it in a week.

Seriously cannot belive this feature is not available - you should at least offer Spotify Playlists with family friendly "radio edit" versions of songs. I appreciate that artists want us to hear the tracks as they originally recorded them, but we are the paying customers and Spotify have to take notice surely??

Not sure how this request/feature has gone 6 years without being addressed.  Now that my children are getting older and with so many other, similarly priced and featured offerings out there, I'm seriously considering going elsewhere.  Even if there weren't "radio edit" versions of songs to replace them, simply blocking things tagged explicit can't be hard to implement in 2018.
