[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Hello!

My friends and family have young children. We purchased the Apple Music because there is a filter for explicit versions. But we would rather pay for YOUR service. Your interface is much better and we would love to give you our money.

Please. We really enjoy your interface. Make a move. We will convince everyone. 🙂

@spotify  whats the timeline on this?? About to move my whole family off the platfiplas my kids are growing up and want to control their own listening more and more, but I can't filter what they hear...

This should be an easy fix! Pull your fingers out!

Spotify are in danger of losing my business (and many other families with young children) if this ability to disable explicit tracks isnt added soon. It is genuinely damaging the experience and preventing us from using most of the playlists and content.

Unfortunately, sometimes these decisions are only made at a senior level when it hurts a business commercially, rather than their cheap marketing facade of 'loving our customers'. Evidently you dont care enough to worry about children being exposed to anything and everything that spills out of an artist.

Still nothing?

Come on Spotify!!

I can see from this thread that the support for this is really strong!!  Is it in development?.  When will we get it?

It's fair to say that Spotify have stopped reading this thread. The only people who care are the users. I'll be leaving soon.

What a joke, there are plenty of people supporting this idea. Spotify must have some other reason they aren't listening to their users. I'm canceling my subscription at the end of this cycle. I'm not going to continue paying $120/year to have the "F" bomb dropped in my home around my kids everyday. Goodbye Spotify!!

PLEASE do this!  Even Pandora has done this, so I know it's possible!  It would be much appreciated.
