[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I went through this link and ended up with the option to start a chat session.

Let's hope that's true. Not long to find out I guess. Thanks

Can’t stay with Spotify without this feature

As a parent with a young child I cannot listen to spotify in the house or car. I cannot renew my subscription without an explicit song filter that works at an account level (so it works with devices like Amazon Echo too).

Sorry but I don't believe you. If that's the case I'll move back from Apple
Music en masse with my family.

Can’t listen with my kids around which doesn’t make for much listening time! Won’t buy premium till you add the filter - even just songs marked as ‘explicit’ can’t imagine that itself would be too difficult to code at least that

If you want to up the publicity of this issue tweet them the problem to @SpotifyCares and @__spo__ . The more people do that the better.

Hi Spotify staff, I can't help but notice your comment was made last Nov2016. It's already 2018, and I still can't a solution to Parental Control given I have a toddler who loves singing to songs played over spotify. We love using the app but I can't protect our child from Explicit songs. I can see you have a label on every songs telling us that music contains Explicit lyrics, but shouldn't it be easy on your end to filter and get rid of that when we want Parental Control to be ON? Refusing to have this feature or not thinking to include it is like your telling us parents to allow our child(ren) to learn explicit words. Hey, it's more than 2 years from the first user bringing up this concern... when will this be included in your roadmap of enhancement to application.

It seems like this request is going into a black hole.    Original request made in 2012 and a non committing statement by Spotify in 2016.  11,000 votes for the feature.  What's the deal?  I'm on a trial right now and not having this functionality will be a show stopper for me.  How hard is it to add a 'filter explicit' button to the user profile?

I updated Spotify today, but dont see the option anywhere. Does anyone have
it?
