[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

I really do hope Spotify develops this feature. This alone, or lack thereof, has actually prevented me from using Spotify more than Pandora and on-line streaming of radio stations. Please consider putting this on the fast track! I'm sure everyone would appreciate it!

With all the great minds in the tech industry today, I'm sure someone could figure out how to incorporate this feature into Spotify.

Obviously this isn't important to you or you'd have done it over the past YEAR!  It IS important to your customers and people who would LIKE to be your customers.  For me, I'm walking.  **bleep** off!

I would LOVE to have this option.  I switched to Spotify from Pandora; but if Spotify can't add this option; I may have to switch back.  Can't have the "F" bomb going off while I'm at work!  I see this was "under construciton" a year and a half ago; it can't take THAT long to develop!

Please add a feature to disable songs with explicit lyrics.  Thank You

I have to subscribe to Rhapsody and Spotify bc I like Spotify better but I can;t plug into it at work bc there is no block on explicits. Rhapsody is more expensive so I would rather just be able to subscribe to Spotify. Please Fix this

I've not subscribed to Spotify based on the lack of this feature alone.  As mentioned by others, many other services provided this, even the new iTunes radio.  This is must have.

Any news on this feature.I just subscribed, and realized this feature doesn't exist. I assumed it was there because so many other services have it.

This is definitely a problem. I'm pretty much afraid to listen to Spotify radio at work because there's no telling what it's going to play.

If Google Play and iTunes can provide this, why can't Spotify? I just opened an account but won't keep this service if I can't filter those songs out. I don't want to hear it and I don't want my kids to hear it.  It can't be that hard to implement the idea into your system.

We love spotify here in the Pine View High School Ceramics Department, but it's hard when we are listening to a clean personal playlist and then a Trojan Condom commercial comes on. Please give us the option to censor the advertisements we hear especially when we are listening to clean playlists.
