[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Get with it Spotify. I'm about to cancel my premium membership. This is basic stuff. Fix it!

Instead of skipping the explicit track, I'd rather have it play a clean version if available.

This should be a feature, Why has it taken 2 years without a response on this issue? Lets see some action.

I really can't believe there's no way to do this. My kid is listening to some awful stuff, and there's no way to block it other than blocking Spotify in totality. I love Spotify myself (and never listen to this stuff) but for kids, it's a loaded weapon.

This feature really needfs to be added. You have been working on it for 2 years??? No News!

This is absolute craziness. I would rather them just say "we aren't doing this" then leave us hanging for 2 years. This isn't rocket science!!

I would also like this feature to be added to the app someday. As I would like to use Spotify at a friendly boxing gym where I coach kid's boxing class. Thank you.

Please add an option to deisable explicit songs or replace them with edited if offered. It has prevented me from using spotify and others playlists completey because I just cant trust what will come through the station.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Spotify Support Team,

Please make the explicit on/off button an option.  I am a physical education teacher in Philadelphia and love to get our students moving through music.

It has been difficult to find playlists/songs without curse words.

Please add this feature....

Not to mention.....you biggest competitor PANDORA has this option.

This would put you guys A STEP AHEAD.

Thank you,

Mr. Liep

This is why I will use Pandora over Spotify.  Ridiculous that it has been two years since the topic started.  This was the first thing I fixed on Pandora after hearing the first F-Bomb in the car with the kids."Disable Explicit Songs" topic says "solved".  Nothing was solved.  Also, unless I am missingg something, Pandora has a much better way to personalize a station using your laptop / desktop to add variety.  I don't see any way to do it when I log in to Spotify's website.  They have a pretty lame UI.
