[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Thank you Culinandy! How are we the only ones that seem totally exasperated by the fact that this has been under consideration since 2012. Come on Spotify I work at a children's store where I use your program. Listening to the radio shouldn't be a chore. I don't want Spotify monitoring to become a part of my job description. Up until now I have said that Spotify is better than Pandora but I can't the parents that come into this store that because you insist on being late and infuriating. I would like to be as irritating about this to the person in charge until Spotify stops sucking about it! Who do I call?

+1 for adding this service, please

NotDougal

Yes! Please add this feature!

I work in adolescent mental health services where the patients use Spotify.

This feature is so needed and the 'explicit' label is there already so half the job is done.

Explicit songs are very popular these days...it's exhausting!

PLease make this a feature.  I listen to sporitfy all the time with my kids.  The last thing I need is F bombs and the like going through my speakers.

Why isn't this a feature? This is an option in Pandora, iTunes Radio, Rapsody, Music Unlimited. As a Premuim subcriber I am thinking about switching to a service that allows a VERY BASIC function that needs to happen to allow me to use Spotify. I am ok with Explicit Lyrics at times, but I cant listen to your radio in mixed company without the fear that a Explicite Song will come on.

This has been UNDER CONSIDERATION for more two years. That is unacceptable.  This feature needs to happen. It's not something to "Consider" it is something to fix, you don't have an option.

Fix this or you are going to lose my buisness.

 Spotify, Get it done.

Please add this feature. It is an important feature to many people, myself included.

Thank you.

Haven't read through all 39 pages of this thread, but wanted to suggest the option to set times for when explicit songs are filtered out i.e. ability to set your own watershed hours?

Would be really useful for those with kids, who don't mind explicit lyrics once they're in bed.
