[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

CLEARLY YOUR NOT LISTENING SPOTIFY.... This requestr goes back more than two years.  Do  a google search and see how many of your customers are looking for a filter.

THIS.  PLEASE....

This feature has to be added, I can't understand how this wasn't/hasn't been implemented yet.  Either create something that will skip those songs, or exchange it for the radio version or whatever.  I use spotify at work and I can't listen to 1/2 my music there because of profanity issues.  I would even become a paid member again with Spotify to allow this feature, please PLEASE add this in, it is truly unfortunate that I have to be careful what I play at work because it isn't there, very dissappointing and I have to use Pandora instead because of it....

I'm currently a trial subscriber and surprised that there isn't any "explicit" filter yet.  Pandora has had this for a while now.  Today I used the workout mood playlist, with my kids in the same room, and then the next song is throwing out SH** and MF left and right.  Very frustrating and pushes me towards not becoming a full paid member.

Agree! +100

I let my six year old have free reign to explore lists on long drives and yes even to help his reading!

Parental control would be useful.

I adore using Spotify to discover new music and this means that I will usually turn up the speakers and put on someone elses playlists (community or Spotify curated).

Great when I'm on my own, however, it pains me to constantly run to the skip button when I realise a song has swearing in it and I have company.

I just want to an option to skip the Explicit songs automatically when I have family over, I don't want to have to build my own playlists that are free from Explicit songs.

PLEASE get this finished!  I listen to Spotify at work and am constantly having to skip songs because of the lyrics.

I have the same issue trying to play fresh music from spotify at my workplace DBL07 Consulting but I can't have explict songs cranking across the office. Please fix this so I don't have to go back to Pandora for our office jams from Cake, Weezer, Timbaland, etc

Cheers

I have just enter the world of spotify and am horrified it doesn't already have such a feature, I cannot use it around the kids and so unles this changes I think I may have to cancel my subscription and revert to itunes. PLEASE sort this out asap!
