[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

My family and I really do like Spotify more than PD, but we keep having bad lyrics blast in front of our kids ears (not that we care for it much ourselves).  Because of this we will be going back to PD until this Spotify comes out with a explicit lyrics filter.

Google Play Music has feature to filter explicit in their Radio, so I listen to Play Radio with my kids and my Play library when with adults.  However, I would prefer Spotify but this is the showstopper for me... and other parents.  Let me know when this happens so you can get another paid service customer.

I want to be able to use Spotify in my martial arts school, however there are always children present.  I like your product, but without a filter Pandora is much easier to use because I can just take out all explicit songs.  I am going to give the 30 day trial a try, but will unlikely continue after that.

Spotify make this happen. At lease add a red e for explicit next to the album / song!

Would LOVE to have this option-- I work with kids, and while I love playing music in our office, we're constantly having to skip/monitor for cursing.... we've pretty much been limited to Disney radio since everything else will loop into something innapropriate. -=[

PLEASE add this feature.

I won't allow my children to use Spotify without it.

I dislike having to jump up and stop a song when it has explicit lyrics and my kids are about.

To me it seem slike a no-brainer and am disspointed it's taken so long.

Many thanks.

Strongly agree with the other posters.  This is basic stuff.  I'm relatively new to Spotify and love it, but this is hugely limiting.  We basically can't use Spotify radio at times when we most want to because we don't really want to hear f-bomb-littered tales of sexual exploits pop up unexpectedly at family dinnertime.  Please fix this!

+1 support for this!

This would be a great feature for playing music at work! Very disappointed it's still 'Under Consideration'.

Currently Spotify is limited in my house to times when my 9 year old daughter is not home. Any other time the risk of getting "f*cking" and other explciit words thrown at her is way too high.

This is a basic function that I find it hard to believe is still missing. Prevents me from stumping up for a paid membership as it severely limits our use of Spotify in any family setting.
