[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

This can't be hard, why haven't you done it?  Maybe I should go to another music source.

Stop considering it Spotify and just do it already, lazy b's.

I would LOVE this feature. I like certain radio stations, but not with foul language!

Other streaming radio / music services have this capability like Aupeo and GroveShark.

Where's the argument for the opposite?? Seriously?

2k kudos, 60 pages of supporting comments and two years later this is still being "under consideration"? Get serious spotify. Slacker had this since day 1.

I just signed up for premium because my husband said this was great. I am cancelling less than 20 minutes later because I can't use this in my classroom. If there were a "filter explicit content" option like there is on Pandora, I'd be fine. Guess I'll check out the premium Pandora instead. #annoyed.

Long overdue feature.  Get with it Spotify.

Spotless - a Spotify Profanity Filter

I'm pleased to announce that you can now download Spotless. This application will enable you to skip any tracks that have been marked as Explicit by Spotify. Please note that this is still beta quality software so it still has bugs and doesn't always work (especially the windows version).

Get it here:

This was built and Spotify rejected it.

Please implement within spotify or allow this app so I can listed safely at work and with my kids, like the 2000+ other people who have taken the time to come here and click on this as well as the 60+ pages of people commenting.  PLEASE!!!

I prefer Spotify to Pandora and currently have a permium account. Unfortunately, I am going to have to cancel it because I cannot use Spotify at work. Pandora blocks explicit lyrics, thus I can play it in class while my students are doing seat work. 😕

also would like to be able to locate a clean or radio edit of a song. So I don't have to skip it entirely but can hear a clean version. How is this feature NOT available yet? I pay for the preium service and seems with a piad subscription I should have this feature.
