[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Want this feature. Would actually consider buying premium if this feature existed.

Poor show from spotify that this still isnt an option. Listen to your customers

This feature alone will cause me to not expand the service to my family.

Unfortunately I may need to cancel my service as a result - can't risk my kids for my musical endulgements.

Spotify, you need to fix this...

Why is this so hard?  Seems dumb to MARK them EXPLICIT buy not disallow with a setting?

?

tiger11_04

Canceling my subscription becasue this feature is not offered and there are almost no playlists of clean music available.

I will not buy spotify until this is handled.  This isn't even hard.  I just bought Pandora again but I'd rather have spotify.  I can't have unfiltered content streaming in my home so I look forward to seeing Spotify making this feature available.  Pandora has had it for at least 2 years.

I just tried spotify for the first time today.  I only listened to a couple of songs when a horrible song with the f-word came on.  I tried to find a way to say I didn't want explicit lyrics, but ended up here.  If there isn't a way to skip explict songs I will not be using spotify.

I wont buy spotify until this feature is implemented

Why won't Spotify address the questions raised here?

Many of us are software developers - we know that this is trivial.  There must be a non-technical reason that Spotify chooses to ignore 62 pages of support for this idea.

Does Spotify really believe that words like **bleep**, **bleep**, **bleep** and **bleep** are alright?

Will they censor this comment, but not censor their content?

No, those **bleep**ing asswipe **bleep**ers filtered my comments.  Here's another word for them :  hypocrites.
