[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Please add a block explicit feature!

shameonspotify

Hi all, my @shameonspotify Twitter bot (https://twitter.com/shameonspotify) has been running for a few weeks now without any problems. Retweet your favourite comments from this forum and don't forget to tag @__spo__ or @SpotifyCares.
If you are looking for an alternative to Spotify, you might be interested to know that Google Play Music grants a free subscription to Youtube Red (and vice versa). Google Play Music has partial explicit controls - it can block explicit songs in the radio feature, but will play explicit songs from an album (see https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7084229).

Come on Spotify. You are selling a family subscription but not providing what is an obvious and practical feature for parents (who are paying for this service) to manage the content their “family” members consume.

Please add explicit content features to help parents help our children avoid content they are not yet wise enough or old enough to be discerning about.

I would like each song to play with the radio version. Rather than for a songs with language to be skipped. Spotify is currently something I can not listen to with my family. Other apps offer this option and I use those apps with my Family instead of spotify.

I can't listen to spotify radio at work because there is no explicit content filtering. How hard is this for you to accomplish?

Briangudgel

Wow. This still isn't a feature?! Lol Spotify. Looks like I'll keep subscribing to Google Music.

Over a year since posted, and it seems more than 2 years since this was first proposed. Come on guys, this is not serious. It's not just for kids. Not everyone wants to listen to explicit lyrics all the time, and at every occassion. This cannot be a difficult problem to solve - show some sense of responsibility.

11,000 Votes and this still hasn't been done?  Why not?

+1 for an explicit button.

Turn off when young kids are around, and toggle on to force explicit version of a song when I'm listening by myself.

Down with the sickness really isn't the same with half the song cut out..

I’ve deleted my total account and access. Switched to Apple Music. Same cost and currently three month free trial.
