[All Platforms] Manage Third Party Access Permissions

I imported all my songs from Rdio by granting access to 3rd party web apps like Mooval , now I want to stop them from SPYING on my activities.

How do we manage 3rd party application access to our account (revoke access to applications, so they can no longer access your account), something similar to the way Twitter does it, or Last.fm

It's misleading to have an ability to grant access with no way to revoke it. I would never have granted access to 3rd party apps if I had known that it was not possible to manage these access grants.

This actually puts me on the edge of flat out removing my Spotify account entirely because it's a huge breach of trust

I DON'T WANT to be DATA MINED BY OTHER COMPANIES and STRANGERS, Please let us remove SPYS like Google does:

We’re happy to announce that you can now manage access to another app or integration with Spotify. Simply head to your account page and select Apps. You can click revoke access on things like partner apps. Thats it!

In addition to the basic security objections here, various forum threads suggest contacting Spotify support via ticket to have access revoked until a revoke feature is implemented. I did that, and support claims they are unable to assist in any way, and somewhat shockingly point me to the third party in question as the only point of further assistance with revoking access. That is so absurd and unacceptable for an auth system I don't even know where to start, so instead I guess it's time to dig up the thread where a dev said to contact them directly in case of issues...

To summarize: Spotify support claims that Spotify itself is even incapable of revoking third party access at this time. Seriously?!

Please implement this, Spotify developers.

Hearing the reaction from others around support being incapable of revoking API keys is incredibly worrying.

I've been a long term customer of spotify since the original BETA but since I cannot revoke my API keys I have no choice but to cancel my account. You have made me do this spotify.

  • What happens if a company starts data mining the data your sending over to them unethically?
  • What happens if the company starts targeting spotify users music habbits without permission?
  • Are you going to let developers have more control of your API than you have? If so this is ridiculuous.

This is insane - I granted a website called MagicPlaylist access to my Spotify account which included the ability to modify my existing playlists, and now it turns out there is no way to revoke this.

Seriously, do I have to cancel my account and start again?  Is there some way to keep all my playlists?

this is bull spotify, between this and not being able to disconnect my facebook from my account; I will not be paying for another subscription. There is plenty of music streaming services that have these simple features implimented, along with every other brand on the internet.

The developers at MagicPlaylist sent me this reply when I asked them to disconnect their service from my Spotify account:

"We have been trying to find out a way to revoke access but unfortunately Spotify doesn’t have that option."

Any updates on this? I hope not being able to revoke permissions won't affect my linked facebook account.

Come on. Show that you care for users privacy as much as you care for getting new subscribers to the premium program.

Please add this feature

Why the **bleep** is this not implemented?

This is incredibly scary from a security and privacy perspective! Imagine some website/service that you granted access in the past, going rogue or being hacked and suddenly your playlists are messed up and god knows what done to your account. This should be of high priority!
