[All Platforms] Sleep Timer

I am a new user to Spotify from NZ and the first thing I miss having moved from iphone's built in music player is the sleep timer. I understand this feature stopped working in one of the recent versions of spotify App. If it is a compatibility issue partly related to iOS 5, may I suggest that you build a sleep timer into the App itself

Also, as suggest by one other Spotify user, Nyx, it would be even better if you could include an alarm featuer so we can all wake up to our favourite playlists within Spotify.

Thanks again for all the great work you guys are doing and we really hope you would consider this new idea.

Cheers

Update: The issue with sleep timer seems to be working in iOS 8.

It's nice to know rhat you have assigned a sleep timer up to a "Good Idea" but that right now you have no plans to act on it!   Why bother asking for ideas if you just ignore them...great customer relations, guys!!  Anyone who knows anything about computers knows that a firstnyear student xould fix that!  Tell you what, thais is the stupidest answer answer I've ever heard, and because of that, I closing my account and won't ever come back.

What he (BiBo1) said!

That is if he said it is ludicrous that a company as large as Spotify doesn't listen to its customer base.  The sleep timer feature is a basic item for all other major music services.  Paying over $150 a year to a company (Spotify) that has an antiquated interface that hasn't changed in over 4 years withoug basic features such as a sleep timer is moronic.  Time to seek better/cheaper alternatives....

Pandora launched it in its beta and still running strong. Spotify has way
more music but it’s such a basic add on there is no reason not to have it.

Here we have a 7 year old suggestion, amongst top voted features. And on top of that it seems like a pretty straightforward, feasible request. Cannot understand why this would not be an instant pick by any dev team, even for a hackathon.

On the other hand google calendar still doesn’t support birthday reminder, which is in a similar situation......

I was searching for it right now and its pretty frustrating, that this is already for 7 years on the list.

I'm using android..

Please do it soon... Over 5000 people voted for it. Its worth it...

What an amazing idea. Should be implemented.

Have there been any substantial improvements of this product in the last 3-5 years?    Putting a green box around a playlist when selected appears is not an improvement . . .  Sleep timer is so basic that I would imagine any new subscriber would instead thing it is broken rather than not a feature.

I would be that for every feature Spotify would list as in improvement, there are just as many "features" that have been removed, broken or not implemented.   I just love the disappearing songs in playlists.   Whats the point of the playlist if the songs disappear over time.

  • I seriously thought I was losing my mind because i couldn't find the sleep timer.
  • It never occurred to me that Spotify didn't have a sleep timer.
  • Might be a deal breaker.

This is an awesome idea. Sometimes I need a few minutes to relax to before passing out, but I don't want the music to keep playing all night or have to reach over to shut it off.
