Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

This is a little silly, why would you remove a feature that obviously some people used. And then offer an alternative that everyone has already known about but not used because there was a more convenient feature. I'm assuming you couldn't tell how many people use the widget because there was no way you could get statistics on that. But people use it. Daily. Bring it back 😁

I was a devoted follower of Spotify since 2017, but they repeatedly remove
my favorite features and don't even have all the music I wanna listen to.
Im pursuing other options since they clearly don't want my money anymore.

Really? I mean, you should have seen it that I had used the widget daily. And I meant it. When I hit the shower, I hit the play button on the widget. When I was head for the office, closing my home's door, I hit play on the widget. When I wanted to have some music in my life, I hit that widget.

Now, that's gone.

It is the gateway of Spotify to me. I do not want to open the app every time to tap on play button. That's two taps away from my music!

And notification player is never there all the time. So, it's not at all a substitution to the widget.

I hope you have it back.

Dear Spotifail, thanks for the free Google Home Mini you offered me as a reward for my fidelity a few months ago.

I have heard it integrates perfectly with Google Play Music and guess what : they have very innovative features such as Android Widget.

If someone who worked for me made this kind of decision that garnered this kind of response I'd promote them....no, wait, the other one...FIRE them. 

It does not make any sense, at all. 

If someone in my comms team responded to complaints in such a glib and ignorant manner I'd fire that **bleep** too. 

You people have no clue what you're doing, do you?

You deserve to lose business to competitors. 

I pay for the whole service, of which the widget was my access point. Please let all users know how our refunds for severely limiting our access to the service will be processed. These should probably be in the form of refunds, because I don't see many people here looking to stay with your new and unimproved "service". 

Good luck at the job centre. If I see "Spotify" on any CVs that come across my desk I'll bin them because your commercial awareness and customer service are absolutely cr*p.
