Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

11,000 votes and counting. Every other forum post is closed down and rerouted to this one with the line "Cast your vote no matter what the status is." Why waste the effort if they aren't going to listen to the users who have already voted? They aren't going to listen. In a month or so this thread will die and Spotify will get away with shafting their paying customers then they will do it again.

Attention Spotify Staff,

         I don't think you realise how many users you have annoyed by removing the widgets, and your response is unacceptable.  Many users including myself used the widgets daily as they are extremely helpful.  The updates you have released recently are honestly pretty bad, first it was the new interface (which sucks by the way), and now the removal of widgets.  I, as well as many other users are awaiting your reply.

And here we are! In the top 5 most voted ideas ever (considering that "explicit filter" is already implemented) IN LESS THAN A WEEK.

Honestly, I can't understand what else do you need to realise what a huge mistake this has been... And to BRING BACK THE WIDGET!

Please prove that you care about Android users and put the widget back.      I will go back to a free subscription and explore alternatives if there is no announcement in the next few weeks.   It is a very basic convenience feature that solves a customer problem - listen to your customers.

I started using another music service. At this point I don't think I will stay with Spotify, even if they do bring the widget back. It's sad too. I've been a paying customer since December 2014. Up until last week, I was a huge advocate for Spotify. Now I'm going to tell everyone not to use it. 😞

Let SPOTIFY know the Android Widget must be returned to the user experience.

I have given Carlos - the Executive Team Customer Support representative notice that I will be discontinuing my long-standing family subscription on 8.26.19 unless the widget is returned.

Please start a live customer chat online and ask for the same.  11,000 customers are NOT wrong.  SPOTIFY IS WRONG...insist they right this this situation.

C'mon people... Stop being so angry, and try being productive.  Threatening isn't necessary.  Clearly they didn't realize how many users dependon the widget. 

I agree with AaronRea in that you should start a chat and let them know directly.  I have already done so, and THEY told me to vote here.  Clearly with that many votes, they are going to notice.  But threatening isn't necessary.  If you don't like the service, cancel your subscription.  Reinstate it when they fix it.  Knock down stars on your reviews and remember to up them when they resolve it.  People, even companies make mistakes, but ya'll are acting like it's a witch-hunt.

Please be constructive.  (I don't work for them, I'm just thinking about how I'd want to be treated)
