[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Removing the widget is the stupidest thing I have seen (aside from limiting your library to 10k).

Seriously,are you trying to drive all of your users away or what? 

BRING. IT. BACK. NOW. PLEASE. 

The reason I'm not switching over to Google play music is because I have alexa devices but you know what? I'm starting to think that I can switch those out so I don't have to use Spotify any more. 

Disgrace. 

Ask your consumers before you go changing the very fabric of your application!!!

Unless there was an issue I don't see why you would remove it.. such a useful feature of the app. Surely it would take little effort to reintroduce and yet you still refuse... Great attitude to have towards 10k+ customers who have already expressed there dislike of the change!

Considering how much I used the Spotify widget, I will seriously consider moving to another platform that includes this basic feature..

What the fudge are you guys doing? Bring back the widget NOW!

 

I've been using the widget everyday since I started using spotify. Now if you don't fix this I will start looking to switch to another music service.

 

The widget does need a serious upgrade, and this just feels like you're dodging work. Lazy bastards.

Why the **bleep** did you remove the widget!? What replacement or improvement did you make to the app to justify your decision? If your goal is to force your subscribers to unsubscribe and go for other music app, well then congratulations, you just did an outstanding job!!!

Seriously p1553d off that the Spotify widget has gone. I can't use my smart watch to control Spotify without it.

I'm going to move for a different app that has this feature.

Please do reconsider this. Perhaps it's actually worth acknowledging what your paying customers want from the app. And please remember that most users don't use the forums and the voices in here are only a drop in the ocean when it comes to annoyed customers.

NEWS FLASH! Android makes up over 76% of the mobile device market share, while iOS is only 22%. You're apealing to the wrong market, considering majority of the apple users are (and always will be) slaves to Apple music.
