Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Give me back my **bleep** widget. Now I have to perform MORE actions to achive the same goal. Precviously, a tap on the widget, resto. Now, not so easy any more. REALLLLLLLY bad decision, Spotify!

I actually caught wind of this prior to updating and now I refuse to update. Hopefully you bring it back before something else breaks or a new feature is released that I want.

Been supporting spotify for 5 years, looks liken its time to make the change to google music until the widget gets brought back into play. Nothing worse then having to access the app everytime to Change a song.

It is kinda amazing that features in a paid service can just be removed with no way to get the back, and no warning.
I'm paying for this, I'm using this cause of the features. Imagen if your car manufacturercame in the middle of night and stole your tires - "we dont support this anymore", "Can i return the car?" "no sorry, and we do not plan on reintruducing the tires anythime soon".

This was a pretty bad move, next time your decide to remove features, please put up a warning in the patch nots on the play store! Thanks

Its like buying a car with media controls on the steering wheel. You then get a notice your car needs an update. When the updates done they removed the steering wheel controls and told you to use the buttons on the radio. Thats acceptable...... Said no one EVER! #bringbackthewidget

Bring it back! With the app, Co workers can change the song without going through my phone which is useful for privacy.

What the heck. The widget made launching spotify very easy. Now I have to drag from the top or bottom edge and then change hand positions, making one handed interaction much more intensive. Pretty disappointing.

I just do not understand Spotify's insistence on punishing its users. They're constantly removing features and forcing updates through that no one asked for or wanted. I used the widget all the time, and now it's gone for no reason, I understand if your dev team didn't have time to make one from scratch, but why remove features that are already there??? Please just bring the widget back.
