Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

Since Spotify wants to "Not Right Now" my request for the widget, im gonna "Not Right Now" pay my subscription until they take paying customers seriously. Ill take my money to Pandora, thanks.

Why would they ever think this was a good idea?? Fastest way to lose customers is ignoring them & I will not support an app that has a comments page that marks their highest voted comment as "Not Right Now" the **bleep** is that? This is something they should be taking care of immediately. I will be switching to soundcloud if they dont get**bleep** figured out considering soundcloud knows that the widget an awesome feature. Truly disappointed in spotify.

Whoever removed the widget should be  fired.
I no longer enjoy using spotify anywhere near as much when  I have to do 5000000 taps to go back to my music.

I'd love to see this feature come back!   Specially now there are new android desktop solutions like "Samsung Dex"

Y'all so dumb for removing this widget.......... Especially when it worked last patch it shouldn't be that hard to bring back...

i just read, that the reason this was removed is so people more often open the app and are exposed to advertisements. 

I can only say that i am a paying subscriber, that went form super happy to angry and questioning my subscruption and  actively evaluating other services as alternatives.

Your communication and treatment of user base is not helping you, as clearly there is a hugh demand for this feature and the reasons are not at all communicated beyond a lame and empty "changes are treated with importance" phrases, that never address anything. 

These decisions, where NO discernible sensible reason can be understood by the user are so extremely irritating and aggravating.

THIS UPDATE IS TERRIBLE, NO WIDGET, CONSTANT CRASHING, WHEN YOU'RE SHUFFLING ALL LIKE SONGS GET OUT AND GO BACK IT REPLAYS THE SAME 20 SONGS... LIKE REALLY!?!?!?

WHY? Why the heck would you remove the widget? I would understand not developing it further atm; also would understand the lack of it if it didn't exist before. But why remove it? Pretty much every media player has a home-screen widget for controlling it. It is extremely annoying to have to go into the app to change songs and stuff; the Phone app is bad as it is already (compared to tablet and desktop version of spotify), so don't make it even worse now.

As a long time premium user (6 years now, 4 with a family) my android widget just disappeared. This is something that is extremely frustrating. When can we expect this to come back?!?!!! It makes no sense why you would take it away...
