Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

Spotify: cancels popular feature without any notice or new feature of comparable utility
Users: wth?!
Spotify: Oh yea, forgot to mention, we're retiring this feature. And there's nothing to take it's place. Have fun lol!
Users: This is a really stupid idea and we're going to let you know exactly how stupid. 
Spotify: *locks thread* if you want to change something post it as an idea and vote for it. 
Users: *Thousands of votes to bring the featue back*
Spotify: Just kidding, you're idea submissions and votes mean nothing. We're not going to work on this lololol.

Does spotify pay artists if you have a playlist set on repeat? if they do I recommend adding this play list  BRING back the android Widget playlist and then setting it to repeat when your not activly listening to music. I vote with my $$ and cancled my subscription but till then my spare phone will be playing this playlist on loop with the volume down.

One of the things that Android users love about the OS is the bonus of having widgets for apps, and removing it is like telling us that we don't matter on the platform. I'm very disapodisapp and will be looking at alternatives with a widget option.

Well, now I have blank space left on my home page for the Amazon Music widget, and who knows, maybe I give it a better chance and cancel Spotify Premium to use only Amazon's.

You guys gave attention to something unnecessary to remove, instead of fixing actual problems of the app.

You cancelled the widget so I cancelled my premium subscription. Signed up for Google play music today. They have a great Widget!
