Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

Welp I was waiting for a reason to end my subscription and start using my free tidal subscription. A few points for the higher-ups in Spotify:

1) If you are going to remove a feature make it known so you can see the feedback from your PAYING customers BEFORE you make the decision

2) Make sure when you remove a feature of an app, the workaround works for ALL of your users. From what I've been reading, anyone on a s10, s10+, and pixel 3 (my current device) don't have access to the drop-down or lock screen controls so now I have to open my app to change music while driving. I do not like touching my phone at all while I drive, but the widget made changing the song one tap, now I would have to take my eyes off the road for 4-5x as long.

Goodbye spotify.

What reason was there to get rid of the widget? You literally did nothing but remove a feature. Next you're going to get rid of playlists because they're "pointless" too

Lets give them some Google Play reviews for the app. Once they drop down to a 3 star app, they might listen to reason.

The notification area can get cleared out when i clear notificatilns.  Then there is no way to resume where you left off.  You have to open the app snd start all over!  Bad idea!!

I really don't understand why you decided to remove it. You already had it, it's a thing people use to access your app, why turn it off? It's the main way I access Spotify. If anything I would have liked more options for widgets of different shapes and sizes.

Why remove a key mobile feature like the widget? Its a prominent feature of the app and one that it would seem post people use. Bring it back. I was going to subscribe to the full version but I think I'll pass now thanks.
