[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Started my Deezer premium 30 days test. It plays music and has a widget. All I need. Time till spotify premium canceling is counting. #BringTheWidgetBack

This decision has shifted my opinion of Spotify from being a good company delivering improvement to people's lives, over to being far along the path to becoming a new Apple - removing their audio jack because some **bleep** had a vision. 

 

I am now on the lookout for Spotify's replacement, and will if course passionately be sharing my disappointment with my network. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to contact me with them. 

 

I am seriously strained by trying to keep from spewing a long list of swear-words,describing what I think of this ridiculous decision.

I find the widget removal very frustrating.  Another reason to consider canceling my subscription to spotify.

How ridiculous and frustrating. Surely it can't be so hard to maintain a basic widget!  If Spotify can't even manage that, perhaps they can't manage anything else, and it's time to move on to a more competent provider.

I went and uninstalled the latest shAt of a version of Spotify and downloaded an older .apk file of the application (v8.5.12.758-47453371), that HAS A WIDGET. Sick and tired of these morAns trying to make us do what they want... and not giving shAt about customer satisfaction.

 

Spotify, you're dumP as heWW - now people will either cancel their premium subscriptions or downgrade their app verson - either way, no one's gonna stick for long, until you realize that you should listen to customers...

Bring back the widget! I was using this every single day! I have downloaded a new podcast player that has a widget and maybe its time to try a new music streaming service

You're losing subscribers. Either bring back the widget or lose more. I'm not paying for a service I'm not satisfied with.
