[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

We’re excited to let you know the Android Widget is back. To get listening, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app and Spotify will show in the widget menu on your device. The widget is now resizable too and some stability issues have been fixed.

Well that's just nonsense. I see people all over social media really upset, expressing their disappointment in you, Spotify, and furthermore explicit calling for the widget's return. 

 

So come on, bring it back or offer a discount subscription or other consolation to compensate for the lack of the feature I signed up for!

Look at the difference without spotify widget in my homescreen. Having spotify widget and the motion is activated is actually freakin' cool. Don't update your android software you'll regret it in the future. Sometimes software update causes malfuctions to your device.

What's clear from this entire fiasco is that Spotify doesn't understand how its customers use its product.

I've been subscriber in years and I realized that I can't afford it anymore. I've been spotify free user from now on. And I still using this app because it allows you to crossfade songs. 12 seconds Crossfade songs is all I want in the app. Please bring back the WIDGET for christ sake!

If you're not satisfied with the spotify app without a widget,  go to Google Play and rate the app. 1 star from me, but make your own evaluation. Be honest and warn other potential spotify users what they're getting into.

I used the widget daily, as it made the listening experience better and easier. Without it, spotify just isn't as reliable...

Funny, I thought the intent behind an app update was to make it MORE functional and MORE user-friendly. Apparently the folks at Spotify didn't get the memo. Nice job people. Give yourselves a raise.

I know there's a lot of thought that goes into design decisions, to make users intuitively understand how to use something, or subtley direct them in a certain way. It can actually be kind of genius.

 

Meanwhile, Spotify's solution is to make people use the app one particular way by making the other ways much, much worse.

How many votes and how many people saying they are going to switch
services.. Any hint of losing money and I'd be changing it back real quick
