[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

just leave Spotify.  like any corporation,they only care about $$$.

if Android users make only a small portion of Spotify subscribers, then they made the right business decision to not focus on Android.  

if they lose enough money, they'll reinstate the widget(s). 

try Apple music, Slacker, Deezer, Tidal, etc.  don't waste time posting comments here like I just did.

I can't believe they took the widget away - I used it ALL THE TIME.  Bring it back!!!!!

Yes!! I used to have one that let me pause and skip songs but it just disappeared this week ?? Please bring it back!

This will make me leave. I don't even have the notification turned on because I hate having the top of my screen filled with notifications. Not only that but if I did have the notification panel on if music isn't playing the notification goes away if the app is closed, which I close all my apps not being used. So I have to reopen Spotify and hit play. The most appalling decision I can think of, make it harder for people to use your app. So many other choices GPlay music, Amazon music, etc. with easier more intuitive apps.

It is just funny that in first place you thought that was a good idea. Still cant be more funnier than the following approaches of yours to the userbase's preferences. I guess Youtube has an inside man on Spotify because I am going to start using Youtube Music if the widget is not there in the next patch.

What is this foul trickery? And just when Tool finally starts streaming. It's kinda like the apps users needs are not being considered here. Here is something to think about, how about use your own app atleast 1 hours everyday before allowing yourself to consider changing things. Then ask your self would it a better experience. In this case retiring the widget did not make it better, instead took something good away.    I would suggest that anybody that doesn't use the app every day shouldn't influence changes to the app. I Hope to see the widget back soon, it was very convenient.

There is no user friendly reason why the android widget was removed. Give your users as many options to use your platform. Everyone loves to personalize how they listen to music. Please bring back the widget.

It's been 5 days guys, if spotify thought this was a mistake they would've apologized by now and given us an ETA to fix it. It's time to stop saying you're exploring other apps and you might cancel your subscription, and just cancel your dang subscriptions.  Spotify doesn't give a hoot about us, it's time to stop giving them our dollars!

@NicholasConrad: did exactly that. Cancelled my family subscription and currently in free trials with Tidal and Deezer. Still looking back from time to time to this thread if Spotify is coming to their senses. Currently it looks like I will be sticking with Deezer.
