[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

We're not asking for editable queues but editable playlists and Spotify on iOS and desktop platforms have this feature.

So  don't try to change the topic to provide reasoning because that's  just nonsense.

There are so many useless features of the Spotify App that no one uses and yet this absolute basic necessity, which I imagine anyone with an Android phone would use, has been ignored for years. Does anyone know why they flat out won't add this functionality?

I'll point out that others in this very thread are asking for editable queues in addition to playlists. Yes, it sucks to use the Android App, but don't believe that the weaknesses of Spotify ends there. Once you have the editable playlist, you'll likely be asking for the queue as well. If I play an album on the Desktop app, I get two options- listen straight through, or turn on random play. It's because I cannot change the queue. So, when you get the new app, if ever, better to get one that handle both weaknesses.

The interface is flawed... for everyone. We all want more functionality. Why not share our voices and try to be heard?

At this time, the "editable queue" thread has over 700 Kudos. That's not enough.  We've posted all the same threats of leaving Spotify, and all the same complaining, but it's still not enough to even get a promise that change is coming. I posted here not to hijack your cause, but to team together with you because we have similar demands. Please Kudo on both threads.

Haha Ikr you have that running feature that finds a song to match your pace but can you edit playlists, nope!

I've taken to using the online streaming website while I'm at work yet rearranging my playslist is STILL not available. It is only available in the use of the software/program which is very limiting.

This is the only reason I've switched to another streaming service a couple of days ago. It's completely frustrating that I can't listen ONLY to the songs I want of an album without having to skip them manually. If I'm commuting I can handle it, but if I want to leave the phone playing through some speakers while cooking I have no choice but to stop what I'm doing and go skip them manually everytime a ballad pops. Not that I have anything against ballads, but they don't always fit the mood. FGS, even the dumbest music players allows you to rearrange the queue and the playlists. I guess the Leading Music Service Throne is too comfortable, and they don't seem to realize many people don't use their computers anymore.

Holy crap! This feature just arrived on android. I queued an album and under playlist view I can drag the 3-dot menu of each song up and down! Thanks so much. 🙂 Now to cancel Google play....

Yes indeed, holy **bleep**! After years of waiting, Spotify's Android app FINALLY has drag and drop reordering of tracks in the play queue. With this, and adding The Beatles and George Harrison to the catalog, Spotify truely no equal for streaming music services.
Hallelujah!! Looks like we finally got somewhere. Well done to everyone who helped fight for this basic feature!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but although you can now queue songs you still cannot edit the actual playlist. Right?
