[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

anybody e-mailed support@spotify.com about it yet?

They just say to add your vote to this idea on Community. They're only interested in weight of customer voices; nobody at Spotify is interested in using their initiative to make their product better based on good design, only what will make them, or prevent them losting, the most money.

EarlPurple

This has 463 votes at present. 500 and they implement it? Or just take notice?

What about all those who have said they will cancel because this basic feature is not provided?

At least with Sterling dropping against the dollar I am paying closer now to what the Americans are paying. But I still am paying the same amount as iPhone users are, and don't get as many features.

The top idea has 0ver 6,000 votes, 13 times the number for this one, which is the 93rd most popular idea. This is why, based on customer demand, this idea is unlikely to ever be implemented.

Of course, it should have been implemented from day 1 of the Spotify Android app's release, based on good design. It should be implemented because they obviously thought it was an important enough feature that it made it into the iOS app.

Honestly, if I ever get hold of the contact details for Spotify's Android product manager I am going to email them and ask them what the **bleep** they think they are doing, they seem to be asleep on the job.

EarlPurple

Well I need it right now. Spotlistr went and put some s**t karaoke version of a song into a playlist instead of the real one, even though real one is on Spotify.

And I cannot edit the real one into the position where the karaoke version is.

Maybe our friends over at Spotlistr can give us this feature? It won't be on Android as such but we'd have it on the web at least.

(Spotlistr regularly puts in wrong versions or songs. Whilst I am shown what was picked, it isn't always feasible. And I might get a live version without the word "live" in the title, just that it's on a live album. And I sometimes get the wrong song because it comes from an album with the title of the name I am looking for).

Spotify is just trying to keep Apple happy by offering more features to Apple users than Android.  However, when Apple gets their Beats music subcription service working, Spotify is going to be left out in the cold.  Then they will be forced to cater to the Android users.  It will probably be too late.  I'm switching to Google Play Music.  Same price, same service, and has ability to rearrange playlists on any device.

@hollyraif Apple released their music app for Android several months ago (it launched with the ability to edit playlists, in case you're wondering).

I would like to use Google Music, especially given the integration with your own library of cloud-stored music, but the app is too basic for me, sadly.

I emailed support and was told that they do not support that option

Thanks for getting back to us.

Right now, we can't rearrange tracks the way you want it in a playlist.
However, you can rearrange the tracks on your playlists by clicking on the
label SONG, ARTIST, SONG or by date. Click once on a label to arrange it
one way, second time to arrange it the reverse, and third to take off the
arrangement altogether, getting you back to your original order.

You can also follow the steps here to sort and filter within Your Music
collection.

We appreciate your feedback about this kind of feature on the app. We’ll be
sure to pass your suggestion onto the right folks here at Spotify.

If you think this is also something other Spotify customers would think is
a good idea, be sure to add it to our ideas board. Those who also support
your idea can then vote on it or add to the conversation.

We’ll keep everyone updated on the status of your idea.

Let us know if you have any more ideas or feedback. If you have other
questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I agree completely. It's quite silly that we can't rearrange our tracks if we are online in our Android playlists.
