[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Hey!

The Spotify Community team here.

We're pleased to confirm that this feature should now be available to all Android users.
We'd recommend double-checking that you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Once again, thanks for showing your support here in the Community.

It's not a mobile player problem. It's only a problem with Spotify for
Android.

Spotify on iOS has the ability to rearrange tracks in playlists, and has
had that ability for quite some time now.

This is such a simple feature that has been lacking on Spotify for Android for years. Why should I have to sort my songs on my pc instead of just being able to do it on my android phone? All other music applications have this feature, which makes me wonder why I don't use them instead. Such a basic feature that has needed to be implemented for so long. Even the iOS version has this feature, and believe me as a programmer, I know for a fact that it is easier to code, create, develop, and even update android apps than it is to do the same for iOS apps.

Switched to androod from iOS, which is what I first encounteres Spotify on. Can't wait to see this feature installed on Android, and can't understand how it was overlooked in the first place.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't overlooked. They've obviously left this standard
feature out for a reason. darn annoying - wish they'd reconsider. May
switch to Apple Music when available.

Need to finally enable reordering playlist / queue tracks in Android app: Spotify's ios app allows it. Google Play Music and every other streaming music subscription service, MP3 player, and pod catcher does it. Now is the time for Spotify to finally add this important feature missing from its Android client. Otherwise a great service, worth the monthly subscription fee.

Very surprising the ability to re-order songs in a playlist has not been implemented for android.   Such a basic and important feature to be overlooked, especially for so long.  Please move this past the "good idea" to implemented category!

I emailed support, and this is how they replied:

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch.

We're always looking to improve Spotify in any way we can. Currently we don't have this option available on android devices. We can’t say now if or when any specific release will be out, but as soon as we've got something to announce, we'll let everyone know on the Spotify blogHowever, this is a great idea, thanks for sharing! Please feel free to share it on our ideas boardYou can get other users to show their support by voting on the idea. We’ll keep everyone updated on its status. Let us know if you have any questions. We'll be here for you.

Now I understand that this is just one employee, who cannot do much on her own, however, I did post the idea of adding this feature to android. If you guys want to take a look at the post, here is the link.

Perhaps if enough people support it, Spotify may actually add the feature!

Please, please, please add this feature Spotify!

New graphics and social features are great, but this is one simple bit of functionality that would really improve the user experience more than anything else...

Pretty please?

I am leaving my laptop at home when I go on holiday and bringing my Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy phone.  It annoys the crap out of me that I can't rearrange my playlist whilst on holiday.  They need to sort this out.  I care more about this than a lot of the 'fancier' features they offer.  I pay £9.99 a month and they can't even do that?!

Why can I not manually drag and drop songs in my playlists on android in order to sort them. This is such a simple feature that has been lacking on Spotify for Android for years. This feature exists on all platforms including IOS, a MOBILE platform, EXCEPT for android. Why should I have to sort my songs on my pc instead of just being able to do it on my android phone? It is extremely irritating to have to boot up my computer just to place a song where i want it to be in my playlist, and then just shut down the computer right after. Why can I not do this on the go, and instead have to wait till I come home every day to place a song in its desired spot. All other music applications on android have this feature, which makes me wonder why I don't use them instead. Such a basic feature that has needed to be implemented for so long. Why does IOS have this feature, when android is easier to develop and update apps for than ios. If I'm paying $10 a month for premium, then why can't I sort my playlists manually on my smartphone? I have an LG G3 running Android Lollipop. Please fix this Spotify, I may switch to Google play music soon if I can't even sort my own playlists...
