Clear play queue

I have to restart my spotify when I accendently start a song from a search instead of adding it to the queue (happens often to me), would be lovely if there would be a clear button for all the songs added to the queue by spotify it self.

We're happy to announce that we have implemented the Clear queue feature on our mobile app as well.

Just open the queue and you should see the Clear all button at the top

Hey folks, you can now find a 'CLEAR' button on the Play Queue in your Spotify Desktop app.

If using Spotify on your mobile device you can check the songs in 'Up Next' and then select 'REMOVE'.

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

Spotify, please reconsider your priority on this item.

It has been marked as "not right now" in order to focus on what you call basic features. What do you call being able to control what songs play in the app? A nobel prize winning idea?

I think a lot of your users are frustrated because of the app missing simple functionality like this, meanwhile the "Discover" tab is updated frequently. This particular issue is probably my #1 complaint about Spotify, which is otherwise the best music app I've ever used. Throw your users some love, and we'll love you back.

This sucks!  I pay for not being able to manage my que??!!

I'm going to start another idea called "Let Winamp Manage Spotify".  Winamp knows how to manage a playlist AND has great visulizations

Whenever I click next or just let it play the next track, Spotify keeps jumping to a particular album I listened to once. I've tried queuing up the next album and all sorts of things but nothing changes it. It just leaps to the same album but different, randomised songs within that album. And no, my Spotify is not on random or anything else.

And moments later I've sorted it. This is a workaround but if I keep clicking next, it will go through every album I queued. Despite Spotify saying that playing something else clears the queue, I had two albums queued. I clicked forward track by track until it caught up with itself. I now have nothing queued and it's behaving itself. I'll be avoiding queing anything from now on.

Why won't Spotify implement this extremely basic feature? I'm so tired of having to do workarounds to do something that would take MAYBE 10 minutes to code. "Status: not right now" what a joke.

I hate to be comlplaining all the time on the Spotify forums, but there are so many things like this that make you ask yourself, "Have the developers ever even used their program?" I think it's ridiculous that this is being acknowledged by the company, yet designated not right now because it isn't important. What exactly ARE you working on?

I agree whole heartedly that clearing the play queue is a very basic function.  Why has it been categorized as "Not Right Now" for over a year and a half????

shrews13

still listed as Not Yet?...how long do we have to wait for basic functions like a simple "clear queue"?????? Your marketing gets updated about every darn day. What gives?

I can confirm the reply from Puttabout. One slight remark...

The directory to find the track-player.bnk is:

C:\Users\<username windows>\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Users\<username spotify>

I've been using the (quite annoying) workaround of starting a playlist on the last song and clicking "next" until there are no more songs to clear the queue. But the last couple of weeks, don't know exactly when it started happening, it starts playing the playlist from the beginning when it reached the last song. It's like having repeat on, always, rendering the repeat button totally meaningless. What is going on? Surely this is a mistake, I hope it's not on purpose. I have verified that this isn't just my account or computer, my friend just tried it on hers with the same result.

Yeah, it wouldn't even let me listen to any more than one song at a time from a different album without going back to stuff that I had queued days ago and decided I wasn't in the mood for.  I just went in and fast forwarded each song and that cleared all the songs I had queued but yeah, why you can't right click and remove songs seems to be an unanswerable question.
